The
fourth generation of Schaffers, Dewey's
children and spouses, including Emily
and Guy Smith; Cole and Sarah Schaffer;
Jake Schaffer; and Hayley Schaffer,
have continued to raise solid, ranch
raised quarter horses with similar backgrounds
as to those raised by their grandfather,
Larry Schaffer.
At
the heart of the breeding program remain
the bloodlines of Triple Goldrush, who
was an AQHA Champion, a High Point Working
Cow Horse; and received 21 halter points
and 140 performance points in 10 events.

The
operation's home-raised stallion, Pattys Sun Pat, is
a Triple Goldrush and Sun Frost grandson mixing the
past with the present and producing, time and again,
horses that are quick and willing to learn, with the
athleticism needed to make great performance horses.
We
have also used some amazing outside stallions,including:
A Streak of Fling, Feature Jack, Gunnin to Play, Snickelfritz
Flake, Dakota Drift, Four Gill, and Nu Cash Cow.
Ranch
raised quarter horses are used on a daily basis at
the Schaffer operation, and every performance horse
has 
his/her start as a working ranch horse. Among us,
we have been fortunate to find success in the rodeo
arena throughout our lives with championships ranging
from the high school to professional level.
- Emily
Smith and Hayley Schaffer hold 5 Nebraska High School
Rodeo Association All Around titles among them,
as well as numerous individual event titles ranging
from goat tying to cutting to barrel racing. Emily
also qualified three times to the College National
Finals Rodeo.
- Cole
Schaffer was also a Nebraska High School Rodeo event
champion (steer wrestling) and won the Team Roping
and All Around Championship titles in the NIRA's
Central Rocky Mountain Region.
- Guy
Smith was the NIRA's Southwest Region Champion Calf
Roper, an 8-time qualifier to the Canadian National
Finals Rodeo, and was a member of the Canadian Olympic
Rodeo Team at Salt Lake City.
 Our
experiences and continued interests in training and
competition, have provided us with the foresight
to determine if a horse has the potential to excel
in the rodeo arena, as well
as on the ranch.

PATTY'S SUN PAT
1998 Blue Roan
Pat Cowan X Triple Abby
Pat
is a 15 hand stud who is easy to handle and be around.
His mother was used extensively by us as a barrel
and pole horse, breakaway horse, and both ends team
roping. Emily won many barrel racing and pole bending
titles on the dam in high school and this mare took
us onto many team roping wins also. Pat's sire is
Pat Cowan (Sun Frost x Miss John Red) who has many
performance achievements and now stands at the Merrill
Ranch in South Dakota.
Pat has sired many outstanding performance horses
that have color, look, and smarts. His colts are
easy to start, learn quickly, soft sided, move smooth,
and are good footed. Pat is only a 15 hand horse
but 90% of his colts are 15.1 or bigger. Pat himself
is good to ride, being cowy and very athletic. You
can saddle him whenever you need to and do whatever
work needs to be done on him.
He has a big hock and has had a broken jaw, so he
sells "stud horse sound". However, he
still rides well and when you need the "honest-no-
buck-horse-in-a-hurry",
he is there for you.
Pat is a good team roping practice horse---either
end--- or whatever you want to do on him. He was
started on barrels before his hock injury and ran
a nice pattern. Pat has been hand bred when he was
younger but mainly used for pasture breeding.
He is a nice stud that can add a lot
to a horse.

This
mare has a great foundation as ranch horse. We moved
her to the arena this last spring and since then
her main focus has been barrel racing. She has a
wonderful handle and a very sweet mare to be around.
She is quick footed and plenty of speed.
Loretta has been exhibitioned and nothing bothers
her away from home. She ready for someone to take
her to the rodeos!

Great
beginner calf or breakaway horse. We have also started
tying goats off of him too. Little guy with a big
personality. Lots of run and a big whoa, but able
to have any kind of rider on top of him.

Popular Resortfigure x Zans Diamond Ginger
This mare is by 2002 AQHA SuperHorse Popular Resortfigure
and out of an outstanding AQHA Reserve World Champion
Amateur Heading Horse, among other accomplishments.
Chevy has a big motor, but has an easy handle as
well. She is a finished barrel and calf horse.
Suitable for experienced riders as she is a big
time horse!

Buddys Cessna Bar x Pedros Doc Oh
This spade mare is athletic and quick-footed. She
has been hauled in the barrels and tie-down roping.
Her main focus most recently has been the barrel
racing. She turns sharp and quick and has a nice
handle.

2008 Mare
This 2008 mare is one of the best crosses on the
Two Eyed Red Buck. Sis is out of an own daughter
of Triple Goldrush and has a full brother that is
standing a stud. She stands right at 15 hands and
is a nice shapey type mare. She is a nice moving
real soft sided mare to ride. This will be a mare
you can take to the show pen or make her a broodmare.

SLEDGE
2007 Gelding
Sledge is a 2007 gelding out of Sue Tripper (Triple
Goldrush) and Feature Jack (Bob Jordan Bred). Sledge
is a 15 hand gelding that gets the job done. Sort,
doctor, go to a branding, do-what-you-need-to-do
type. We have a full blood brother to him that we
use for everything and for everyone. Turn him out
and he will be the same horse when you get him back
in.

LYLE
2008 Gelding
Lyle is a 2008 gelding by Pat and Trya Tripps Codelle
standing who stands 16 and still filling out. Out
of our best producing cross and one of the last
to sell of this cross. Lyle is a smooth riding,
moving horse who has been used for just about everything
on the ranch. Branding, sorting, doctoring he has
done and tried to always please while doing. From
his first saddling he has aimed to please and has
never offered to buck. If you are looking for that
next heading horse or barrel horse he has the potential
to be great.

CHIEF
2009 Gelding
Chief is a stout 2009 gelding by Pat and Docs Blue
Corkey. Smooth mover with a lot of action. He has
been used on the ranch moving and sorting cattle.
Full brother stands 16 hands at 1350 lbs and plum
catty. He is a half brother to my good horse Voodoo
who has been handy at whatever job you put him on.
Look for the same here but with a bigger horse.

FRANK
2008 Gelding
Frank is a 2008 gelding by Sensation Cash and Docs
Blue Corkey. Real nice horse to ride to go get the
job done. Smooth mover, 15 hands, stout made, nothing
bothers him. Frank has been used doctoring, sorting,
branding, pushing cattle to the chute--- throw whatever
you want at him and he doesn't get excited. Frank
won't get much taller but is going to fill out.
Will be the right size for a calf roper or heel
horse.
