AGES AND LEVELS OF HORSES FOR SALE ~~~

T
he fourth generation of Schaffers, Dewey's
children and spouses, including Emily and Guy Smith;
Cole and Sarah Schaffer; Jake Schaffer; and Hayley
Schaffer, have continued to raise solid, ranch raised
horses with similar backgrounds as to those raised
by their grandfather, Larry Schaffer. At the heart
of the breeding program remain the bloodlines of Triple
Goldrush, who was an AQHA Champion, a High Point Working
Cow Horse; and received 21 halter points and 140 performance
points in 10 events.
The
operation's home-raised stallion, Pattys Sun Pat,
is a Triple Goldrush and Sun Frost grandson mixing
the past with the present and producing, time and
again, horses that are quick and willing to learn,
with the athleticism needed to make great performance
horses.
We
have also used some amazing outside stallions, including:
A Streak of Fling, Feature Jack, Gunnin to Play, Snickelfritz
Flake, Dakota Drift, Four Gill, and Nu Cash Cow.
Ranch
raised horses are used on a daily basis at the Schaffer
operation, and every performance horse has his/her
start as a working ranch horse. Among us, we have
been fortunate to find success in the rodeo arena
throughout our lives with championships ranging from
the high school to professional level.
- Emily
Smith and Hayley Schaffer hold 5 Nebraska High School
Rodeo Association All Around titles among them,
as well as numerous individual event titles ranging
from goat tying to cutting to barrel racing. Emily
also qualified three times to the College National
Finals Rodeo.
- Cole
Schaffer was also a Nebraska High School Rodeo event
champion (steer wrestling) and won the Team Roping
and All Around Championship titles in the NIRA's
Central Rocky Mountain Region.
- Guy
Smith was the NIRA's Southwest Region Champion Calf
Roper, an 8-time qualifier to the Canadian National
Finals Rodeo, and was a member of the Canadian Olympic
Rodeo Team at Salt Lake City.
Our
experiences and continued interests in training and
competition, have provided us with the foresight to
determine if a horse has the potential to excel in
the rodeo arena, as well as on the ranch.
Please
have a look at the wide range of horses we have offered
on this page and feel free to call:

Great looking, sorrel gelding with white hairs throughout.
His bottom side has produced cutting, roping, and
barrel racing winners. Speed and ability will not
be a problem with this gelding. He has 45 days of
riding and will be able to excel in any area of
the arena you chose. A very willing learner.
Barrel
racers take note of this one!

LOT 52 - PC FRENCHMANS DESIRE
2000 Sorrel Mare
This classy mare would be an outstanding addition
to anyone's program. She has a tremendous amount
of speed and her natural ability makes her turns
quick and easy. "Frenchie" has been hauled
to jackpots and a few rodeos.
Prior
to her start in the arena, as a 6 year old, she
was used as a ranch horse and also had a year off
when she raised a very talented "Feature Jack"
gelding that is also becoming a fine barrel horse.
She has a super handle and a very even temperament.

|
LOT 59 - CHUNK A SAN LYNX
1992 Sorrel Gelding
|
"Kramer" is a big, strong gelding that is
ready to go. He's a push-type barrel horse with a
lot of speed. He truly is a "point and kick"
horse that is easy to get along with. He also makes
a pretty pole run. No gate issues with this easy-going
guy. He does have an obvious blemish on one knee that
has been examined by Equine Veterinary Associates
from Grand Island and shown to have a bone chip. This
has been apparent for some time, and has never bothered
him or his performance.

COYOTE
2001 Bay Gelding
Own son of Young Gun and out of a Doc's Stylish
Oak mare. Used primarily as a heel horse, but we've
started roping calves on him to which he is picking
it up very quickly. Great handle, natural talent,
and a quick stop. We'll continue to rope calves
on him until he's sold. Look for this able fellow
to excel in any discipline you wish to go with.

ABBY BANDAROS
2000 Bay Mare
A nice mare out of one of the best performance and
producing mares Schaffer Ranches ever raised (Tripps
Abby). "Pumpkin" is a stout mare that
is gentle enough for a kid to ride, yet fully capable
of working up to par for a more experienced horseman/cowboy.
She's seen it all, having been used in big Nevada
ranch country and is also quite capable as a breakaway
horse in the rodeo arena. We hauled her to her first
rodeos in the summer of 2006 and were very happy
with her performances. She's easy to rope off of
and has absolutely no qualms in the box.
Also
a great little goat horse. Nice and honest, with
lots of run to the goat.

PISTOL ZANSA a.k.a. "LITTLE JOE"
1994 Bay Gelding
Big
time calf horse not for the faint at heart.
He's
a class act that's carried Guy Smith to CPRA and
PRCA wins throughout Canada and the U.S.
2004
CPRA Horse of the Year.

ROXIE
2003 Grade Paint Mare
Roxie is sweet as can be and cute to boot! Gentle
and a doll to be around. Initially she started out
with a reiner and then moved on to be a youngster's
horse. She's been used at playdays in barrels, poles,
and breakaway. An all-around horse for the beginner.
She has no problems carrying a full-size rider either.
A 3 year old little girl has no problem stopping,
reining, and backing her up.
$4000

HR WILY GOLDRUSH
2003 Sorrel Gelding
We
sold this son of Wilywood and Triple Abby (the dam
of our stallion, Pattys Sun Pat) as a youngster
and bought him back in the spring of 2007 as un-broke
4 year old. Now, with a year of riding under his
belt, he is making a nice horse. He's got the same
easy-going temperament and quick to learn style
of all of Triple Abby's foals. He's seen some time
as a ranch horse; started in the barrels; and has
tracked the roping sled. We'll continue to hone
his skills and will either keep him for ourselves,
or sell if the price is right.
Please
call or email
for pricing.

SR FLING THE GOLD
2005 Red Roan Stallion
A
beautiful son of A Streak of Fling and Triple Abby
(the dam of our stallion, Pattys Sun Pat) that shares
the same traits as his brothers - easy going and
quick to learn. We have not used his services to
date. Easy to be around, and runs with a pen of
geldings. Started on the barrels and coming along
at a slow lope to date (June 2008). He sustained
an injury as a yearling and had a bone chip removed
from his left hock. This hock remains larger than
the other, but simply because of scar tissue. He
does not favor it and it checked-out clear.
Please call or email
for pricing.

|
BLAZE PHAZED
2001 Sorrel Gelding
This
double-bred Peppy San Badger (Smartest Little Pep
x Solanos Peppy San) gelding is ready to go in whichever
direction you so chose. He was trained as a reiner,
though never shown, and spent several years as a
breeding stallion. Presently we are tracking the
roping sled around on him and getting him some time
out of the arena. He is gentle enough for a young
rider and well broke enough to be a great all-around
4-H horse.

CALIOPE
BUG
2003 Brown Mare
This
mare's price has been dramatically reduced due to
a problem I can't seem to pinpoint/fix. Last summer
and fall (as a 4 year old) she was working great.
We'd been using her to ranch on, drag calves at
brandings, and she had a great start in the barrels
- just started loping the pattern with a lot of
natural rate and push. After a three month hiatus
I got back on a different horse. I don't know if
she was injured in the pasture or if she has taken
on a psychological problem? She does not move the
same when you're riding her and will pen her ears,
swish her tail, and occasionally kick-up. I've given
her time off, been to two different vets, two different
chiropractors, and tried some supplements. I suspect
she'll come out of it at some time, until then,
she's being offered for sale at $7000. She is a
Bully Bullion daughter out of a Bugs Alive in 75
granddaughter that was a proven, winning barrel
horse.

BOB EASY FEATURE
2005 Grey Gelding
We
purchased this gelding at Bob Jordan's dispersal
sale in the fall of 2007. He's by LIL EASY FEATURE
(LIL EASY CASH/DASH FOR CASH) and out of a STAGE
BAR TED and SANDY JACK JORDAN bred mare. He's a
very fluid mover with a nice stop and a kind disposition.
He's a quick and easy learner. Should grow to have
a lot of run to him. Started on the barrels and
we will continue to work with him until he is sold.
